Card Diva was created to transform the payment processing industry…
Candy Fernau, founder of Card Diva, Inc. formed the company in 2005 after a few short years selling credit card processing services. She quickly realized what a sour, unwelcoming attitude most business owners have towards payment processing. Let’s face it, selecting a processor is about as anticipated as a root canal! However, she knocked on doors every day and the few people who were receptive to talk to her told Candy she was different. Therefore, they gave her an appointment. She brought class, sass, and an honest educational approach to an over solicited industry where the “churn and burn” sales reps say anything to make a sale. One merchant after another who initially told her they would never switch processors again, quickly changed their minds after listening to her.
Candy had always been one to hitch her wagon to a star, therefore she went completely against the grain with the launch of Card Diva. Not only was she walking and talking her brand, but she wanted Card Diva’s image/ identity and tagline to be remembered by everyone she handed her card to. Setting herself apart from her competitors in every way was Candy’s main goal. Her under-utilized degree in Public Relations, and years of advertising and marketing experience was finally paying off. From the company name, to the colorful flashy, glitzy character, Card Diva demands your attention and she makes sure you won’t ever forget her!
Wendy Brown became a Card Diva after owning two clothing boutiques, and desiring more flexibility with her career than retail could provide. She understood the business owner’s needs regarding credit cards processing, so it was a very easy transition for her. Having traveled with her boutique to trade shows affiliated with the PBR and NFR circuit, Wendy found a niche selling wireless credit card machines to fellow vendors. She has put Card Diva on the map in the western industry and played a major roll in developing Card Diva into who she is today. Wendy’s bubbly personality, fun loving spirit and the fact that she has never met a stranger leads to great success in all that she pursues. Wendy’s husband says just once he’d like to take her on a real vacation where she leaves work at home instead of trying to earn every winery and hotel’s processing account along the way! Card Diva can’t help it she makes work fun… and she can sign accounts anywhere! Doesn’t that make each vacation a tax write off? But of course!
Joanne Holland became a Card Diva after working independently for a number of years building her own merchant services business. Having worked together for over a decade previously selling advertising then payment processing, Joanne and Candy decided it was time they joined forces again! Joanne desired the freedom, flexibility and partnership mentality that Card Diva provides, and Candy was excited to work side by side again. Joanne’s positive attitude, go getter mentality, and never failing tenacity makes her a true blessing to Card Diva. She brings 20 years of paralegal experience to the table, and a no nonsense sales approach that has merchants standing in line be her customers! Joanne launched her Card Diva business in Florida and she dazzles every prospect she meets with her million dollar dog “Toto” along to close the deals. Her goal is to live the rest of her life on the sandy beaches of Florida, work hard then play hard, and not necessarily in that order! She provides a great destination for Diva retreats and “working” vacations… and those sandy beaches have tons of beach front boutiques and restaurants for her and Toto to conquer on a daily basis. What a life!
Roxanne Wigginton joined the Card Diva coterie as Executive Assistant but she wears many more hats than this one! She is the voice that you hear when you call the Card Diva office, and the main facilitator of customer service and technical support needs. She is always ready to help with a smile and a go getter attitude. Sometimes the Divas overload her, but she is VERY resilient and diligent in managing the day to day activities. Roxanne’s main challenges daily is to keep up with Candy’s entreprenural spirit and her ever changing schedule! It’s a big job, but someone has to do it…no one EVER said this job is an easy one!!
